Our Charity Partner - Gabby's Starlit Hope

This local Trust not only provides support for children, but provides support to the entire family, from delivering gifts and Christmas food to those staying in hospital, to providing meals and baking to those needing extra support and help, to fundraising for fur companions for children who need a friend, while they go through their journey. We could not do without this amazing Trust in our region.

Help us, to help the legacy of this amazing young women continue.

Established by Gabby Devine in 2013, Starlit Hope has delivered thousands of random acts of kindness to children in hospitals around New Zealand. Sadly, Gabby passed away in 2015 but her legacy has lived on. Gabby's goal was to put smiles on faces of child cancer superhero’s and kids admitted to children's wards. Today Starlit Hope continues to provide boredom boxes and surprises to children and their families all over the country.

What does Gabby’s Starlit Hope do?

• Provide boredom boxes to children’s wards across New Zealand
• Provide superhero bravery packs.
• Provide giant boredom boxes to children undergoing radiation at Starship
• Provide special packs to oncology kids who are suffering
• Undertake random acts of kindness to celebrate Gabby’s birthday
• And so much more

What can you do?

1. Register to run and raise funds through the creation of a give-a-little page For those who raise over $250, we will provide you with a tee-shirt to run in on the day.
2. Donate directly when entering our event.  For every donation over $250, we will provide you with a tee-shirt to run in on the day.
3. Bring something on race registration day to put in our random act of kindness box – it could be felts, stickers, activities – anything to help a child in hospital pass some time.
