
Online entries will close at midnight on Tuesday 26 February 2019. Late entries will be accepted at registration on the 1 March 2019 with an additional $10 late entry fee.
Race numbers and race packs will be available for collection from Novotel, New Plymouth, on Friday 1st March (5:30 pm – 8.30pm). Photo ID will be required.
Due to traffic management limitations, and use of volunteers at aid stations, participants have until 1.30 pm to complete the events.
Runners expected to take greater than 6 hours are asked to contact the organisers and start at 6.30 AM with the walkers to ensure completion of the event.

After the event, the buses will depart from Waitara to New Plymouth and at the following times: 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm.
Participants will have to advise when entering if they are intending on using this service.
No vehicles will be permitted past Kaimiro Hall (4km from the start) after 7.00am. Drivers travelling up Egmont Road must take extreme care as walkers will be on the road from 6.30 AM.
We have water stations located approximately every 5-7km. There will be supplies of water and/or Hammer Nutrition electrolytes.
Every finisher in the marathon, half marathon, and 5km will be awarded a medal.
In the marathon and half marathon events the place getters overall and in various age group categories will be awarded.
The overall place getters in every race and Taranaki Marathon Champions will be recognised at the prize-giving. Age group placings will not be recognised at prize-giving.
The feature Novotel Mountain to Surf Marathon race will have prize money as follows:
All merit prizes are calculated on “gun time”.
Major spot prizes will be drawn at prize-giving and winners must be there to collect their spot prizes otherwise it will be redrawn.
Minor spot prizes will be drawn before the event and can be collected with race packs.
Race HQ is located Novotel New Plymouth. All enquiries should be directed there.
A gear van will be at the marathon start line and the half marathon start line to take marathon competitors gear to the finish line.
Place your gear in a small bag marked with your name and race number. Competitors are fully responsible for security of their personal belongings at the event.
Marathon toilets are available at the start line. Please ensure you use them and not the National Park bush areas.
Toilets are also available at 21.1 km and the finish area.
Water and fruit are available to entrants in the Finish Areas – 21.1km for the team event and 42.2km.
Food and beverages will be available to purchase at the finish area.
Post-event dinner is also available to purchase from Novotel New Plymouth for $x with a $1 from every meal supporting our local charity. The buffet dinner will be held before the major prize giving.

Post-race massage by Body Smart will be available at the finish area. $20 for 20 minutes. Cash only, no booking required.
First Aid is provided on the course. They will have final say over whether a participant is safe to continue.

The Start
The start line for the marathon is at the gates to Egmont National Park
The start line for the half marathon is in Inglewood.
The Finish
The finish line is at Marine Park in Waitara.
A pre-race briefing will be held at the start of every event. All entrants must attend.
Race numbers must be worn high on your chest and be visible at all times. They must not be cut or folded.
Your race number has a disposable electronic Timing Transponder stuck on the back. Do not trim or fold the number, or tamper with the transponder in any way.
The Timing Transponder is programmed to your name, event and the correct start time. Do not mix up your race number with another participant, and make sure you start with the correct event.
