Using the map viewer

  • The default base map is aerial imagery. Use the Base Map Gallery tool on the top right hand side of the screen (shows as four boxes) to change and view other options.
  • When the layer list is opened, there is now a group called ‘Mountain To Surf Marathon’.
  • Users should click the triangle beside the group name and this will then show layers within the group.
  • The first two layers are general layer being Toilets and Drinks Stations.
  • Then there are two sub groups, one for the half marathon and one for the full marathon.
  • Each of the sub groups contain other layers that the user can access by clicking the triangle next to the sub group name.
  • By default, the full marathon sub group is turned on but the user can turn this off or turn on the half marathon sub group or the user can display both – having the two sub groups means that the user can quickly switch between the half and full marathon courses.
  • There is a link on the Map Viewer banner called User Guide. This will give users a detailed guide on how to operate the features of the map viewer.
